Document Sharing
Dialogue lets you share notes and meeting transcripts with others. You control who has access, what they can do, and you can revoke access at any time.
Sharing Options
Private Sharing
Share a document with a specific person by their email address. They receive a real-time notification and can open the document immediately.
- Read permission — the recipient can view but not edit
- Write permission — the recipient can view and edit in real time
Team and Organization Sharing
If you’re part of an organization, you can share documents with entire teams. All members of the team receive access with the permission level you specify.
Public Links
Create a shareable link that anyone with the URL can use to access the document. Public links support:
- Read or write permissions
- Optional expiration dates
- Revocation at any time
How Sharing Works
- Open a note or transcript and click Share
- Choose to share with a specific user, a team, or via public link
- Select the permission level (read or write)
- The recipient is notified and can open the document
On macOS, share notifications are delivered as native system notifications. On the web, they appear in real time via server-sent events.
Managing Shares
You can view and manage all your shares:
- On macOS — from the share sheet in the document view
- On the web — from the dashboard or the share settings page
From either interface you can:
- See who has access to each document
- Change permission levels
- Revoke access or delete shares
- Copy public links
Real-Time Collaboration
When a shared document is open by multiple people at the same time, they enter a live collaboration session automatically. See Real-Time Collaboration for details.
